Living in the Light of a Loving World

A story should have a beginning, a middle, and an end…but not necessarily in that order. –Jean Luc Goddard

zebra-elephantWhy are you living this life? Have you thought about that question carefully? Can you name an action you have already taken or plan to take that will make your life complete? Will it bring you peace when you die because your purpose will have been fulfilled? Mortality is usually an unwelcome subject among families and friends. Many of us spend a lot of time and energy avoiding any acknowledgement that dying is a part of the life cycle, and few people are open about the odds of our lives ending in death being 100%. Those of us who do regularly think about death can be overwhelmed by worry which is a very destructive kind of imaging, but we can control how we react.

woman-shorrting arrows with feetAccepting the inevitability of death is actually a freeing experience. Accept it, let it go, and get on with living by pursuing your authentic self. Don’t seek to be normal or average at anything you do. I suggest that you fill your life’s activities with creativity, doing things differently than others—doing everything your own unique way. Please don’t be afraid to be seen as “odd” and do not lose your life to the wishes of others. Remember Carl Jung’s words, “Being normal is only a satisfactory result for the inadequate.”

If your Inner Voice is giving you negative messages from former authority figures in your life like parents, educators, or clergy, you can silence them by simply abandoning the past nonsense they dumped on you. You will lose your life by letting others decide how you are to serve the world. You can edit your Inner Voice and censor the comments it keeps relaying from old, unreliable sources.

hands-togetherThe way to make your Inner Voice your advocate instead of your adversary is to act as if you are the person you want to be. Talk to your body with words and images, and what you want to happen, will happen. You are now a divine creator, and time and matter do not exist. Bring a sense of meaning to your life. I have learned that when I transcend material desires and ask for the ability to be a divine messenger, my day is changed. Think about why you are here. Imagine yourself, along with all of us, living in the light of a loving world.
