Q & A with Bernie – May 16, 2016

Question for Bernie:

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014. I had a mastectomy and elected chemo and radiation treatments even though it was not required. I wanted to do everything I could to beat the cancer. (Estrogen-driven, HER-2 negative, early stage).

In January 2016, I was diagnosed with non-smokers lung cancer, inoperable, late stage. What a shock. I am reading your book Love, Medicine and Miracles. Thank you for the wonderful insights. I am doing the work to heal broken relationships, get in touch with my feelings, and remove contradictions within me to learn to self-love and heal.

I have gone from nightmares about my childhood pain and loneliness to dreams that still involve my family members, but I am letting go of the past pain. I started a Dream Journal to record what the dream means to me. I see changes in myself.

You also write about interpreting a patient’s drawings. How do I get started on drawings? Is there a guide or book on drawing and how to interpret them? Like my approach with breast cancer, I want to do everything I can to beat non-smoker’s lung cancer.

Bernie’s Answer:

You are a survivor, and you have the potential. Childhood is the place where it all begins, so get those internal wounds out.

My book, The Art of Healing—Uncovering Your Inner Wisdom and Potential for Self-Healing, with 60 drawings can help you understand and them.  If you send some to me, I will be happy to look at them and give you my impressions.

Question for Bernie:

I’m from Brazil, and please sorry for my English. I have pulmonary hypertension and a lymphoma. To maintain my pulmonary function normally, my medicine is Viagra 25 mg, three times/day.

I actually love your book Peace, Love & Healing, and your methods of self-cure, which is about winning the battle against disease yourself. Then I would ask what you could recommend for me. I am so grateful. From my heart, thank you Doctor Siegel.

Bernie’s Answer:

Visualize what you desire and not what you fear.  Love your body and life.

Ask yourself what words describe what you are experiencing, and then remove from your life everything which fits the negative words you think of.

Peace & Healing,
Bernie

Question for Bernie:

Hope you are well! I’ve been thinking of you recently, as I was diagnosed with colon cancer last month. My oncologist is recommending chemo and radiation.

I have decided to postpone treatment for six weeks and try a ketogenic diet and natural herbs, etc., to try and shrink the tumor a bit.

I’m not a fan of chemo….so darn toxic! And, there is, as you know, quite a bit of research out now that discusses not only the toxicity of chemo, but also that it stimulates cancer cell growth.

I am doing visualization, meditation, getting sugar out of my body, and  taking certain herbs that “claim” to kill cancer cells.

So, truthfully speaking, do you think I am being foolish? The thought of doing radiation and chemo just feels so wrong for my body. I just can’t process it to the point of thinking it’s a good thing. Any thoughts?

Thank you and big hug!

Bernie’s Answer:

The key is doing what is right for you versus trying not to die. Think about healing your life and body and eliminating disease versus killing the cancer. Nourish yourself physically, mentally, and spiritually in an environment of calm, steady, strong support from yourself and others for success on your healing journey.

So, you decide what you can live with without guilt and what is correct for you.

I do suggest you read Love, Medicine & Miracles and The Art of Healing—Uncovering Your Inner Wisdom and Potential for Self-Healing, and draw pictures of yourself and all your treatment options.  I can review them for you to see what your intuitive wisdom is saying to you so you can tap into that power instead of always deferring to your thinking mind. It is the inner wisdom which speaks the truth.  There are many alternative resources, too.

Peace & Healing,
Bernie
