Beauty and the Beast

Love all God’s creation, the whole and every grain of sand in it.
~ Father Zossima, The Brothers Karamazov

We all know that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.  We are so involved with our physical appearance that we frequently do not see the beauty before us.  Our pets never linger in front of the mirror, nor do they fear to show themselves if they are missing a part or are overweight.  They accept themselves.  We, as humans, often see not the beauty but the beast when we look in the mirror.

If you see yourself as a beast you will go on a path of self-destruction.  The day you can look in the mirror and see beauty is the day you will begin to care for yourself.  Just as your self-love makes you beautiful, so does your love of others convince them of their beauty.

Beauty is not about perfection.  It is not about your physical features. Yes, they can make you attractive, but true beauty is not about appearance.  It is about your spirit and your soul.  When you reflect their essence, you will be radiant, and people will be dazzled by your true beauty.

Adjust your eyes to see beyond the mirror and into the truth.
