There is a tide in the affairs of men, which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune.
~ William Shakespeare, Julius Caesar
There is a right moment to act and speak. The same thing said at the wrong time can be a disaster, while spoken at the right time, enlightening. When we are angry we have to express it appropriately and at the right time. If not, the words that would have led to an improvement may make the situation worse.
So be aware of the appropriate timing and your emotional state before speaking. Also, while you are deciding on the right time or moment be patient and aware of what others need. Sometimes the right moment for you is not right for the person you want to communicate with.
Timing is everything. If someone is homeless and without warm clothing for the winter ahead, donating your old winter clothes and food to the shelter the following spring is not very helpful. So think of what you can do when it makes the most difference. Your sense of timing and choice of action affect us all.
As the Bible tells us, “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven.”
